I am a Kansas City based Actor, Singer, and Composer who focuses on collaboration and innovation in performing arts, with a passion for Musical Theatre and New Works. My composition work is focused on theatrical performance, including musical theatre, dance, and theatrical underscoring. Musical theatre has also been my focus as a performer; however I have also enjoyed acting in many straight plays as well as performing on the Opera and Ballet stage.
Going to college for music and theatre performance, I quickly fell in love with music theory and composition and began composing in earnest around 2019. My first large composition project was collaborating with Daniel Stucky to write and record original music for a new play "For Such A Time As This" by Bethany Vermillion, followed by drafting a one act musical retelling of the story of Narcissus and Echo, culminating in a virtual staged reading. In 2021 I composed music for a production of Bertolt Brecht's "The Exception and the Rule" and my first musical, a one act Christmas musical I wrote with award winning dramaturg Soph Marsh titled "A Campbell Family Christmas," was selected as the winner of Shawnee Mission Theatre In the Park's "Innovative Theatre Challenge" and produced as the final show in their season. In Spring of 2022 I worked with a new theatre company “Inside the Trojan Horse” to create a devised one act musical titled “The Monster and the Priestess.” I am currently working on a new musical based on my earlier draft of Narcissus and Echo.
Although focused on music composition I am also an active performer in the Kansas City area, primarily working on new and devised shows. Most recently seen in the world premieres of “Mother of Monsters” by Elaine Clifford and Shely Verden and, before that, “Vilna” by Lisa Grissom and Kevin Cloud.
